    Author: Update time: 2011-03-01

A Planetary science symposium workshop was held in Purple Mountain Observatory (PMO) on February 22, 2011. Including academician Shu-Hua Ye, 23 scientists from the Shang Hai Observatory(SHAO) and more than 30 young experts from PMO attended the symposium. Directors Ji Yang, Chun-lin Lu and Wei-Qun Gan also attended this workshop.

In the symposium, after a brief introduction of this field, astronomers from both observatories gave talks on the topics of planetary physics, planetary chemistry, and detection technology. The recent progress in planetary science, future development schedule, and cooperation were also discussed. In the end, both observatories achieved agreement with tighter cooperation and deeper communion.
