On Mar 1, 2010, the selection results of the nationwide "Top Ten Progress in Astronomical Science and Technology, 2009" were announced. This activity was jointly organized by NAOC (National Astronomical Observatories, CAS) and Chinese Astronomical Society. Three projects leaded by PMO (Purple Mountain Observatory) were awarded. They are: 1) Important progress in the study of Gamma Ray Bursts in the Era of Swift and Fermi telescopes; 2) Near-Earth Celestial Bodies Telescope System passed through the achievement authentication; 3) The THz small-sized low-energy-cost NbN super-conductor receiver. The project of “Automatic astronomical observation in inner land of the Antarctica” has been working for all year long, which was collaborated by PMO, NAOC, NIATO (Nanjing Institute of Astronomical Optics & Technology), and etc. It broke the record and huge data set has been obtained, and was also awarded in the Top 10 astronomical progress. |
