  • The joint astronomy school for outstanding undergraduate is found by NAOC, PMO, SAO, and USTC
    Author: Update time: 2010-03-04

An agreement of "Joint Astronomy School for Outstanding Undergraduate" was reached by observatories of CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) and USTC (University of Science and Technology of China) recently.

According to this agreement, 40 physics-majored freshmen of USTC will be recruited every year. These students will be selected from those who are interested in astronomy and will study in a 4-year program. A concentrated education scheme will be performed in the school. Special lectures, individual career designs and particular study schedules will be designed by students and their supervisors together.

This agreement will strengthen the cooperation between domestic observatories and universities, and search a creative education mode for high level astronomical elite.
