AbstractTo date about 150 QSO at z> 6 are known. They offer the opportunity to study the properties and early assembly of super-massive black holes and their host galaxies. I will review the main results and open problems about the first QSOs at Reionization, their host galaxies and environment, and discuss recent results based on ALMA and X-SHOOTER/VLT observations.  I will introduce “XQR-30: the ultimate X-SHOOTER legacy survey of quasars at z=5.8-6.6”, an ongoing VLT Large Program aiming at studying a large sample of high-z SMBH, their host galaxies and environment - through multiwavelength observational campaigns involving ALMA and MUSE/VLT.
