Abstract: He centre of the Milky Way plays a key role in astrophysics because it is the only galactic nucleus that we can resolve on scales of milli-parsecs. In this talk I will review the current state of near -infrared studies of the Galactic Center’s stellar population and massive black hole and their interactions. I will highlight ongoing work and discuss the near- to mid-term perspectives.
