Abstract: Submillimeter Array (SMA) is a pioneering imaging interferometer in the sub-millimeter wavelengths. Since its dedication in 2003, SMA has been in operation for more than a decade. This talk will highlight its discoveries in a wide range of astrophysics  and outline a major upgrade plan for the SMA in the era of Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array.
