| Abstract As thousands of exoplanets have been discovered, focus of exoplanet research shifts from increasing detection to statistical properties of an ensemble and in-depth characterization of the most scientifically interesting objects. In the quest for a general understanding planet formation and evolution, 5-10 m telescopes play an important role in providing crucial information of planets and their host stars. I will present exoplanet research conducted at Keck (2-10 m telescopes) and Palomar (Hale 5-m telescope) Observatories, in particular, how these two observatories advance our knowledge of planet formation under different stellar environment. With future instrument upgrades, advancement of exoplanet research will be continuously made and field expanded. I will highlight the promising future of remote sensing exoplanet. |
