       Abstract

WINDII (the WINDII Imaging Interferometer) on UARS(the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite) was launched in 1991 by NASA. Using airglow in the upper atmosphere as targets WINDII provides winds, temperature, and airglow emission rates. The first empirical wind model and two airglow emission rate models derived from WINDII data are discussed in this presentation as well as their limitations.

The Cubesat is a new space technology, which started in 1999 in California USA. Since then the CubeSat has enjoyed a fast development. This talk gives a brief introduction of Cubesat and its applications, particularly in Canada.
