    Abstract

The Voyager mission consisted of two spacecraft launched in 1977. In 1990, it was renamed the Voyager Interstellar Mission, with the goal of reaching the interstellar medium. In 2012 Voyager 1 left the heliosphere and reached interstellar space. I will discuss the scientific background and findings of this mission.
