    Abstract

It is quite interesting to explore GRB origin from the side of host galaxy.  General review of GRBs and host galaxies will be given first. Then, one theoretical model for GRB host galaxy is adopted. The star formation rates in GRB host galaxies are derived. The related stellar masses, luminosities, and metallicities of these hosts are estimated. In particular, X-ray and optical absorption features to GRB afterglow can be further calculated. Moreover, dark GRBs are also concerned in this talk. Finally, we expect GRB host galaxy observations by both large optical/IR telescopes and sensitive submillimeter telescopes.
