| Abstract The Zadko Telescope is a 1 meter, fast response telescope, located about 60 km north of Perth, donated to UWA by resource company Claire Energy. The Zadko Telescope is uniquely located in a region devoid of similar facilities and is the only meter class telescope capable of deep imaging between the east coast of Australia and South Africa at this southern latitude. The Telescope is the Australian ‘node’ of the TAROT robotic telescope network. It employs the same Robotic Observatory control Software (ROS) developed by our TAROT partners. The Zadko Telescope, as the main southern hemisphere node of the TAROT network, enables much larger coverage of the transient sky for participation in several frontier optical transient science projects, including GRB follow-up, neutrino alert follow-up, verification of Gaia satellite discoveries, and education outreach and astronomy training via a user friendly remote access and scheduling system. |
