Abstract
ALMA is a large antenna array which is being constructed by the USA,ESO, and Japan. After decades of development, up to now, there have been 8 antennas on the top of the Atacama Plateau in the northern Chile. There are three different types of antenna dishes which were designed by the USA, ESO and Japan respectively. Due to the short wavelength of the observation bands, the antenna surface accuracy and pointing accuracy are extremely important, thus carbon fibres with low expansion rates are widely used in all the three designs.
