SMLab specializes in high sensitivity superconducting receiver technologies relating to radio astronomy at millimeter and sub-millimeter wave band, and technologically supports and updates the 13.7M millimeter telescope in Delinha, Qinhai province and the POrtable Submillimeter Telescope (POST), which is the only submillimeter telescope in China. Main Work: 1. Nb based superconductor SIS (Supercondcutor-Insulator-Superconductor) mixers for 13.7M millimeter telescope at 100GHz. 2. NbN based superconductor SIS mixers for POST telescope at 0.5THz and 1.4THz. 3. Superconducting HEB (Hot-Electron-Bolometer) mixers. 4. Researches on direct detectors. 5. Back-end signal processing techniques including acoustic-optic spectrometer (AOS) and superconducting correlator technique. 6. 3x3 multibeam SIS receivers with 18 IF channels. 7. FTS systems for Dome A. International Collaboration: 1. With ASISS on SMA project. 2. With NAOJ (Japan) on ALMA project. 3. With NiCT (Japan) on development of NbN SIS mixers. 4. With Russia, France and Netherland on development of HEB mixers. For more information see: http://mwlab.pmo.ac.cn |
