The SSAU delegation visited the Spanish National Institute for Aerospace Technology

     24 April – 4 May 2014 first persons of the State Space Agency of Ukraine (SSAU) and representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Secretariat visited the National Institute for Aerospace Technology (INTA) in Madrid, Spain.  

     Ukrainian delegation was represented by Chairman of the SSAU  

     Yuriy Alekseyev, Deputy Chairman of the SSAU Sergiy Zasukha, and Deputy Director of the Special Expertise Department – Head of the Real Economy Sector Division of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Secretariat Mykola Shcherbyna.  

     Director General of the INTA Ignacio Azqueta Ortiz, Deputy Director General on Corporate Relations of the INTA Carmen Rodriguez Augustin, Director of the Radiofrequency and Electronic Technologies Department of the INTA Manuel Mulero Valenzuela   (Spanish Twinning Project Leader) and other representatives on behalf of the Spanish side took part in the bilateral meeting.  

    Ukrainian delegation visited the Astrophysics Observatory (Island  

of La Palma) and Maspalomas INTA Space Centre (Gran Canaria Island). During the discussion of the cooperation both sides admitted the great potential of Ukraine and Spain in the space sphere as well as a wide range of opportunities to develop collaboration between the countries in space technique development and its exploitation, spacecraft control, telemetric data receiving, development of the ground technical facilities, including the activities in the framework of the Horizon 2020 program.  

    On 25 of April 2014 the Framework Agreement between the INTA and the SSAU on Cooperation in the Area of Space Activities was signed by Director General of the INTA Ignacio Azqueta Ortiz and Chairman of the SSAU Yuriy Alekseyev. According to the document the parties agreed to cooperate in the areas of launch services, launch vehicles, development of spacecraft and ground space infrastructure systems, control and operation of multi-purpose space vehicles, Earth remote sensing (ERS), research, the Space     Environment Control and Analysis System (SECAS), the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), satellite communications, new technologies and innovations.
