International Symposium, “Energetic Particles in the Heliosphere”, was successfully held in Nanjing

The symposium was sponsored by the Purple Mountain Observatory and the SDUWH. About 60 scientists and researchers from APL(Applied Physics Laboratory of Johns Hopkins University ),LPL(Lunar and Planetary Lab of University of Arizona),University of Arizona ,ShanDong University,National Space Science Center(CAS), Nanjing University, Beijing University, USTC etc. participated in the meeting.

The symposium highlighted recent research development in the study of  energetic particles in the heliosphere in general and the processes of particle acceleration and transport in particular. Prof. Randy Jokipii, a member of the American Academy of Sciences, gave 4 lectures on cosmic ray physics, and Dr. George Ho, Prof. Fulvio Melia , and Dr. Jin Chang were also invited to give a series of talks. Participants had in-depth exchanges and explored potential collaborative projects.
